Britain’s political system is already haemorrhaging legitimacy. Rushing through radical measures on abortion and euthanasia, without mandate or even much debate, only adds to the sense that the state views the public with contempt.

Some lit journals pay nothing. Today, appreciatively, I received a modest check from The University of Tulsa for this poem, which appeared in Nimrod Journal last month. Editor-in-chief Boris Dralyuk and his excellent young staff put out a first-class journal that respects the folks it publishes.
