Asking the press to get it right on Trump’s threat to democracy is not remotely the same as being in the tank for Biden. To equate the two makes everyone dumber.

Greg Sargent conducts this argument — with examples — better than anyone I have read so far. newrepublic.com/article/181353…

PLEASE read this.

I’ve been saying these things for years, as have many others.

Democracy CAN be broken.

When electoral & judicial officials can’t safely do their jobs, it’s already being savaged.

Unbelievable

The press should report vital news, not reflect what people want to see back at them

News shouldn't be a product of polls

If the NYT doesn't think democracy's survival is a top issue because Americans don't see its importance, SHOULDN'T THEY REPORT ON ITS WELFARE?

SOMEDAY SOON I’LL FIND AN APARTMENT IN NYC THAT I CAN AFFORD BEFORE MY LEASE RUNS OUT.

Putting this out there to make it come true.

1/Thread: Why we should be very troubled about the hasty deployment of police to put down campus protests: a) police response is disproportionate b) campus raids accelerate disruption & distrust, reduce safety c) use of force legitimates future authoritarian responses to dissent.

Love this idea that a right enshrined in the Constitution can literally be taken away if you miss one election as if it has an expiration date on it and it goes bad if you don't use it 🙄

Wyoming removes anyone who didn't vote in the most recent election from voter rolls (in this case, the 2022 election).

So the state just purged 28% of its voter registrations: wyofile.com/wyoming-voids-…

Trump promised to repeal Roe v. Wade and he did. He's telling us again exactly what he'd do if he's president again. Any suggestion that Trump is 'moderating' on women's rights is unserious and dangerous.
