It’s time for the legislature to listen to the vast majority of Arizonans and repeal this archaic abortion ban.

Donald Trump bragged about getting rid of Roe v. Wade. He and his fellow Republicans celebrated the Dobbs decision.

So now when they say that this decision 'went too far' — I simply don’t believe them.

I refuse to allow extremist Republicans to lock up women and doctors for seeking or providing needed healthcare.

That’s why last year I signed an executive order to prevent overzealous county attorneys from prosecuting women and doctors for performing or receiving abortions.

Arizonans will have the chance to enshrine abortion access in the state Constitution in November.

Republicans in the state legislature could take action right now to repeal this archaic 1864 ban. But yesterday, they outright refused.

So here’s my reminder to you: every single one of them is up for reelection in November — and we need to hold them accountable.

When I ran for governor, I promised to do everything in my power to protect abortion access for Arizonans.

And my promise today remains the same: I won’t stop fighting until we have fully secured the right to reproductive healthcare.

This doesn’t stop at abortion.

Arizona Republicans are going after IVF. They’re going after contraception.

We need to hold them accountable in November.

The only people who should be making decisions about your body are you, your loved ones, and your doctor.

Not lawmakers from 1864.

Let’s enshrine the right to abortion in the Arizona Constitution this November.

Today’s legislative action was unconscionable. The extremist Republican majority had the chance to do the right thing for their constituents, and they failed.

It is a dark day in Arizona. We are just fourteen days away from one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country.

But my message to Arizona women is this: I won't rest, and I won't stop fighting until we have secured the right to abortion.
