In my experience, either you will refactor your monolith to make it maintainable or your successor will re-platform your application. It's not RPG or IBM i that is the problem. It is the uncontrollable monolith, QED. Make #monoliths maintainable!

There are plenty of good reasons one might not like #remote work and plenty of companies are terrible at it. But I don't understand people who say working remotely has too much distraction. Tech offices are the reference implementation for distracting environments.
