It's a religion. UFOs are now demons that can be driven off by invoking the name of Jesus Christ, and ufology is a battle against Satan.

I wonder what it says that recent corporate rebrands have pushed out sunshine orange in favor of the same shade of 1970s stagflation orange.

I compare it to the 19th century craze for finding the bones of Bible Giants, which also turned out to be mistakes (mammoth bones, false measurements, etc.). In both cases, a deeply held mythology and wild media coverage shaped how witnesses interpreted what they saw.

Leaving aside the errors in his view of the pyramids, is he really arguing for “alignment” around the will of an all-powerful, monomaniacal autocrat?

It's rather surprising that every year somewhere between 15-25 "authentic hair strands" from James Dean go up for sale on eBay with the same mounting, same COA, and same claim to be cut from an original lock that must, by now, have ceased to exist several times over.

I'm not sure how to think about this. Yes, refusing on principle may look stupid in time, but what about those of us who tried it and discovered that its output is worse than human effort? So far, A.I. has failed me in depth, quality, and even basic accuracy and wastes my time.
