Our Director Yumemi, visited Sierra Leone in April and May this year in order to see the actual activities onsite. Her representation was to inspect the local activities and these activities were reviewed in order to make room for improvement and making better activities.

[Local Food in 🇸🇱] A scene from our director’s visit to Sierra Leone. Our director discovered a Japanese-like food "Fufu" which in Japan is called ‘Mochi’. The mochi is however, made of rice and kneaded into a glutinous dumpling. That's what makes it different from Fufu.

[Our Activities] Our ongoing sex education program in Kenema District which is named ‘Husband School’ has already reached 2600 participants. The aim of the program is to discuss about the causes of teen pregnancy and teach boys how to respect girls’ sexual rights. #SexEducation

【Exhibition at Global Festa】 On the 1st & 2nd October, our staff in Japan engaged in the largest international cooperation event in Japan, called ‘Global Festa’. We sold various Sierra Leonean products at the exhibition and introduced our activities to our customers. #JaSiLe

[Our Activity] For eight years, JaSiLe Foundation provides support for over 1,500 Sierra Leonean children and teen single mothers who are in difficult financial situations. Our staff in Japan raise funds through different means to ensure children can complete secondary education!

[Our Activities] We have extended our sex education program in Kenema District which is named ‘Husband School’ to another secondary. This time we included girls too and we currently have about 700 girl-participants. #SexEducation

[Our Activity] On the 24th and 25th of December 2022, our Japanese staff opened a booth at the ‘Discover Africa’ and the ‘Henteco Christmas Festival’. All of the cloth that we use to make our products are from Sierra Leone and most of our products are made by Sierra Leoneans.
