Too often analysis of political unrest across Africa neglects the economic factors driving it. That exonerates those who profit at the continent’s expense and doesn’t allow us to think more constructively about solutions. ✍ Jaume Portell Caño Jaume Portell Caño

When I lived in California, I complained so often about the paucity of rain (and the cozy enjoyment of the indoors it brings) that my loved ones in more varied climates would send me videos of rain. It's such a sweet way to say "I'm thinking of you." Anyways, it's raining 😊🌧️

My mum is a dental hygienist, and her work's EHR system has no field for family doctor (useful info) but does have a field for driver's license (not useful). Result? They store family doctor as driver's license. Clever! But I feel for the data engineer with a broken pipeline...

today I learned "wallow" and "evolve" share a Latin root (volvō). The "e" of "evolve" means "out of", so I guess you could say "evolution" is to emerge from your wallowing

Love how biking is often faster in Toronto than driving! The low-cost, low-emissions, healthy option *should* be the most attractive way to get around the city! (Ideally transit would be a little speedier too!)

Day 2 of #AdventOfCode in both #Rustlang and #rstats. I was pleased with my solution for part 2 that let me re-use my part 1 solver. The R code is more concise since `diff` comes built-in.
