On 13th Aug, the the Centre for Multidisiplinary Reserch & Innovation in Social Policy, supported by 🇯🇵 through UNFPA Sri Lanka was launched. JP looks forward to seeing the positive impact of this Centre on several areas, including gender-related issues.

On 14th August, "🇯🇵Japan-🇱🇰Sri Lanka Committee on Business Environment" has been launched to address various issues JP companies in SL are facing. Representatives from EOJ, JETRO, JICA, JCCI and SL authorities including BOI were present. More investment from🇯🇵to 🇱🇰‼️

From August 20 to 22, the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (#TICAD9) will be held in Yokohama. Under the theme of “Co-create Innovative Solutions with #Africa,” Japan and Africa will use their respective strengths to address shared challenges together.

On 27th August, Ambassador ISOMATA visited the Faculty of Dental Sciences at the Univ. of Peradeniya, where Japan has been assisting over the years through ODA. He took a tour of entire faculty including a hospital which was constructed by ODA. #UPeradeniya
