I have been taking a break from Twitter but today I learned of news that has encouraged me to return..... Sanditon is getting a TV adaptation by none other than the incomparable screenwriter Andrew Davies!! #JaneAusten #Sanditon

Sanditon is an unfinished novel begun by Jane Austen that she started writing in January 1817, the year of her death. She completed eleven chapters of the novel before stopping work in mid-March as her illness prevented her from continuing. #Sanditon #JaneAusten

This is amazing! Jane made from 5000 cotton tapes. 71 words from P&P's opening paragraph are woven into 4000 tapes and make up Jane's face, while the background 1000 are name tapes listing the 16 main characters. #OTD 1805 Jane Austen wrote to Cassandra ‘Here is a day for you! It is March & April together, the glare of one & the warmth of the other. We do nothing but walk about’. Here's hoping we have more warmth and glare this April!

A few people have said that the first Jane Austen novel they read or saw the adaptation for has been their favourite. I'm curious, is the first Jane Austen novel you read or saw the adaptation for your favourite? #TuesdayThoughts #JaneAusten

The first #JaneAusten novel I read was Northanger Abbey at college but my favourite has always been Pride and Prejudice after seeing the 1995 adaptation then reading the novel. As I've gotten older Persuasion does have a special place in my heart though x.com/JaneAustenInfo…
