Nothing like attending training that is meaningful & thought provoking. Session 3 of Talk for Writing for SEND pupils. Today’s focus was the innovation stage. It was very informative, I’ve taken so much from it & I have lots to think about . Thank you jane ralphs Pie Corbett
This week, some children in our DSP were introduced to ‘Barney Bears seasonal dreams’ sensory story. They have been trying really hard to answer questions, describe pictures and write what they say. Proud Talk for Writing jane ralphs Pie Corbett
This morning in our DSP, we continued our Talk for Writing imitation stage. We recapped on our 5 sentence story , using props and acting it out. We also worked on ‘who’ , ‘what’ and ‘doing’ questions, with the use of symbols. Great work Rocket class jane ralphs Pie Corbett
One week into our new term and the children have been busy during our immersive phase of Talk for Writing . In our DSP and SEN class, the children are learning about ‘The great fire of London’, through an interactive sensory story , art and music 🔥 🏴 Pie Corbett jane ralphs

Our DSP children are having lots of experiences through teaching simple facts about ‘The great fire of London’ . ‘Fire snakes’ in AA , using simple language to describe scenes from this historical event and have begun our 5 sentence story Pie Corbett jane ralphs Talk for Writing

Sadly, I’ve had my 4th and final day of Talk for Writing SEND training. It was all about short burst sentence work and how to support independent story inventions . Was visual and practical and you know me jane ralphs I’ll see how to implement it all in my new planning. Thank you.
