Sources: Sacramento State has retained prominent anti-trust and sports attorney Jeffrey Kessler, who has been helping the school in its efforts to move to FBS football. Kessler is exploring legal avenues after the NCAA's decision to deny Sac State a waiver to play FBS football.

Sacramento State has hired attorney Jeffrey Kessler to represent them as they pursue legal avenues to become an FBS independent in football after a waiver request was denied this week, Kessler confirms to CBS Sports. Kessler was a lead attorney for plaintiffs in House v. NCAA.
