I’m back in my home state to cover Kamala Harris’ rally in Houston. Harris told pool reporters earlier that leaders made “Texas ground zero in this fundamental fight for the freedom of women to make decisions about their own body” and that she will talk about that impact tonight.

Wrapped up finals in Principles of Government with a Congress simulation! 🏛️ Students presented their own bills, debated, and negotiated just like real legislators. Proud to see them bring the legislative process to life! HAIS

Our Black History Program was a powerful, student led celebration featuring poetry, dance, and song! We were also honored to have Dr. Tammie Lang Campbell, founder of the Honey Brown Hope Foundation, share her inspiring words on advocacy and justice. HAIS

After five years in the classroom, I’m stepping away from education and returning to the City of Houston. Grateful for the lessons, the students, and the journey. Excited for what’s ahead!

Such a proud moment seeing my former students complete their service learning project that we kicked off together with Amigos de las Americas. From cleaning the bayou to getting a special tour of the cistern, their hard work and dedication are truly inspiring! 🌿💧
