Like so many of us, my wife and I still miss video shops a great deal, so we’ve now started going to our local CeX once a week to browse and choose a couple of titles (for a quid or two apiece) to watch that night. It’s the nearest we can get to bringing back the glory days

Just got back from seeing Risky Business at my local. Would be an indie or straight-to-streaming movie these days; in 1983, it was a Warner Bros title that became the 10th biggest BO hit of the year. Great to see Cruise morphing into a movie star over the course of 99 mins

Didn’t expect to enjoy Sirens half as much as I did. What a compelling and intriguing show

Saw this at FrightFest last year. Highly recommended

Went to an animal sanctuary today. Goat had escaped. Owner said, “It’s OK, he loves salt n vinegar crisps.” Called “Oscar” and shook a pack. Goat appeared out of nowhere and ran to him. They should’ve tried this with Black Phillip on The Witch

Loved 28 Years Later - fierce, unpredictable, emotional. Full of startling images, many of them beautiful, and the soundscape created by Young Fathers is flat-out astonishing. Stitching the Brexit subtext into the folk-horror elements is inspired. Our green and unpleasant land
