The absence of DEI would mean the non-existence of the zombie genre, as the idea of zombies traces its roots back to the North American island of Haiti. This concept has since turned into a popular genre in both films and video games. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie

AMD's single-pass mip downsampler uses a neat technique for avoiding a 2nd dispatch for the final 6 mip levels: Each workgroup increments a global atomic when it's finished. The final group to finish is then responsible for downsampling the final tile. github.com/GPUOpen-Librar…

After many weeks of effort I finally have radiance on screen now! I’ve still got issues mostly related to my Surfel Acceleration Structure, however I’d say the results are already looking quite promising. It has kind of a hand painted look to it now :)

Seb wrote a fantastic article exploring how to make mat mul go fast on AMD GPUs. This is a deep dive into both the algorithm and hardware, with great visualizations. He is also looking for work and I only have good things to say about him, so hire him! seb-v.github.io/optimization/u…

Your SSD runs a (light) operating system. It’s often more powerful than your home router. Peek at any NVMe drive; chances are, it has 2-4 ARM Cortex Cores at ~1GHz. Real-Time Operating Systems like ThreadX dominate the space, but some specialist drives boot Linux!
