Call me over-optimistic but I think both the Rishi Sunak Net Zero intervention, and the (tragic) felling of the Sycamore Gap tree may prove to have an overall positive & galvanising 'rebound' effect for climate and nature ... ('some good will come of it')

Thanks for coming Mike and for sharing your insights around living labs and wider systems innovation for #netzero in the built environment

The flurry of announcements coming out of COP28 are largely to be welcomed. It's good to see countries, & companies, taking voluntary action to cut emissions, boost renewables & deliver more climate finance. BUT

Mohamed Adow (@mohadow) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We need to remember #COP28 is not a trade show & a press conference. It’s an international negotiation & that is still the most important part.

The talks are why we are here & getting an agreed fossil fuel phase out date remains the biggest step countries need to take here in Dubai over the remaining days of the summit We need a fair, fast, full & funded fossil phase-out.

James Cole (@jamestweeets) 's Twitter Profile Photo

‘transition away’ far too weak at this late stage IMO. Both the strengths and weaknesses of the consensus COP process at play - but we are *8 years* since Paris and still can’t agree the obvious: We must unequivocally move faster to phase out fossil fuels #COP28

Thank you Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership for organising such a great panel discussion at #COP16 on how economic growth meets Nature. Without Nature the economy dies & with Nature already seriously depleted we need to take a different path. Big message: Grow Nature for health, wealth & security.

There’s no future for the UK, or indeed the EU and US, as a manufacturer of internal combustion engines and boilers when China is about to flood global markets with low cost and big performance EVs and heat pumps and solar panels and batteries.
