2CV adding a little class to proceedings at the The Splined Hub this evening. 🙂

Prototype 2CV - or ‘Trés Petit Voiture’ - of 1937. Front wheel drive, independent suspension, rack and pinion steering, 8bhp 375cc 2-cylinder engine (water-cooled - production car was air-cooled).

Splendid Silverstone. Buggers wouldn’t let me take the 2CV onto the circuit though. Clearly afraid of it showing up all those silly racing cars.

I love this Saab. But I also hate it, deeply. Two years of hard work and expense and it just won’t stop fighting. Even Clever Clive is getting annoyed with it.

Exciting Saturday afternoon dismantling Smart’s sequential drive unit. Instead of electronics, springs and magnets, I half expected to crack it open to find a tiny gentleman with a clipboard whose job it is to approve gear change requests.

I saw Oasis a few times in the 1990s and they were okay. If you fail to bag yourself tickets this time, rest assured Liam’s voice won’t be as good and the crowd will be full of attention-seeking bores filming the gig on their phones and taking selfies.

Former Doctor Who Tom Baker bought a Berlingo in 2003 and had it for years. I’m not sure he slept in his, or transported most of a Smart Roadster, two adult-size bicycles and half a garden centre. (Tom’s Berlingo was, of course, blue).

Rumour has it, after 28 years, the plug may be pulled on this brilliant generation of Berlingo/Partner. It has been built in El Palomar, Argentina, since 1996. It even got a facelift last year! I wonder if Stellantis would let me drive the last one from El Palomar to Paris?

Not generally my cup of tea but I had a good laugh blasting about in this Capri 2.8 today. I now feel more… manly. Would anyone care for a fight?
