Fallout is…fine, but it relies too much on the atom-punk aesthetics, which really don’t make any kind of coherent plot sense - they just look cool.

This thread is illustrative of a problem. Thames Water social media guy is responsive but doesn’t know the river or nature or the tidal flow.

Don’t forget that you need to bring ID when you vote tomorrow - unlike this Tory MP who is tonight asking local members for help

I bought The World At War on bluray recently.

I’ve seen it several times over the years but personally I find that the scenes of the Blitz, and the related interviews, feel very different after Syria, Ukraine, Gaza etc.

A complex mix of reactions and emotions.

Important from Marietje Schaake.

It’s twisted & inexplicable that “AI safety” ppl continue to perplex themselves w ill-defined thought experiments focused on the fake far future while AI’s being used by the Israeli military to expedite slaughter now.

Here's something I've been working on for the last few months - a greatly improved BT Group Archives film player.

If you're a fan of Public Information Films, old TV adverts or telecommunications you'll be sure to find something of interest:

A word to historians and archivists tentatively investigating use cases for Large Language Models: have a look at Retrieval Augmented Generation if you haven't already.

Early days, but it appears that it could be very useful in increasing reliability and reducing hallucination.

I was waiting for a thread like this from someone who’s deeply immersed in research on Blunt.

My first reaction to the article was along the lines of ‘extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence’.
