We had a fantastic parliamentary launch for our report today with @CIWF & RSPCA (England & Wales)! Inspiring to hear cross-party support, with animal advocates and farming industry united on one message: if it’s too cruel to produce in the UK, it’s too cruel to import. #StopCruelImports

Today I attended the #StopCruelImports event in Parliament, hosted by RSPCA (England & Wales) , Compassion in World Farming UK and Animal Policy International, to show support for farmers and strong animal welfare standards.

Allowing cruel imports that don't meet our animal welfare standards is unfair to animals, the British public & UK farmers. Today we've launched #ClosingTheWelfareGap, a joint report with Animal Policy International & @rspca_official. Read it here: bit.ly/4jLCIKC #StopCruelImports

Thank you to Ruth Jones MP for hosting our #StopCruelImports parliamentary event with Animal Policy International and RSPCA (England & Wales). If it's too cruel to produce in Britain, then it's too cruel to import to Britain. Read more here: bit.ly/44Rxgl5

Delighted to speak at the launch of “Closing the Welfare Gap by Animal Policy International Compassion in World Farming UK RSPCA Australia We must maintain our bans on the imports of chlorine-washed poultry, hormone-treated beef & dairy, & ractopamine-fed pork. The Govt must uphold animal welfare standards in trade deals

"The UK risks undermining its animal welfare laws and disadvantaging British farmers if the Government allows imports of meat, eggs and dairy produced to lower standards than here.” mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/c… by Nada Farhoud 🇱🇧🇬🇧 💚🌳🐾 The Mirror #StopCruelImports

I dropped by Compassion in World Farming UK's event in Parliament where I spoke to them about the disturbing amount of animal products imported to the UK which are produced using cruel methods. This disadvantages British farmers, who are quite rightly subject to higher welfare standards.

If “a product is too cruel to produce here, it must also be too cruel to import”. Ahead of the UK-USA trade deal announcement, James West spoke to Malcolm Prior about the importance of protecting UK animal welfare standards. #StopCruelImports bbc.co.uk/news/live/cn91…
