My review essay in FJSS. The essay argues that while Byung-Chul Han offers a nuanced critique of contemporary times, he lacks methodological rigor and doesn’t emancipate the cultural components of the global south, making his theories largely Eurocentric. fccollege.edu.pk/wp-content/upl…

You need to read Foucault's Birth of clinic and perhaps a little history of science and perhaps some work of Kuhn. Agamben, too.

I just heard from our editor that the Bloomsbury - A Cultural History of Technology is set for publication next year! I contributed with a chapter on seventeenth-century food technologies and can’t wait to see this comprehensive volume in print soon!

If the relative 'peace' of the post-War II Pax Americana is over, we need a different kind of sociology: * Article: How Pacifist Were the Founding Fathers?: War and Violence in Classical Sociology. By Sinisa Malesevic. European Journal of Social Theory, 13 (2), pp. 193-212

I seriously don't get this obsession with coding around qualitative research. When did this shift happen? I still enjoy analysing my data without software.

Wrote about AI and journalism -- not the apocalypse version, just the quieter truth: the industry was wobbling long before the machines arrived. But Punjab Uni students asking genuinely curious, thoughtful questions? That gives me hope. Read here: thenews.pk/print/1382218-…
