Elon Musk told the United Nations he would give them $6 billion to end world hunger if they showed him a detailed plan of how they would use the money. They called his bluff and gave him their plan— and then they never got the money. Now he’s buying Twitter for $45 billion.

One example that really summarizes Elon Musk is when he said he'd fix all the lead pipes in Flint and just donated water filters to 12 schools instead.

Since this is probably the last day I can tweet this, can I just remind folks that Elon Musk is a union-busting billionaire who inherited money from his dad's apartheid-era emerald mines? Tax the rich + unionize Twitter now!

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive. This is what oligarchy looks like.

Elon Musk, who just bought Twitter for $44 billion, paid $0 in federal income taxes in 2018, and between 2014 and 2018 had a true tax rate of 3.27%.

For perspective, if you somehow made $200,000 every single DAY from Columbus' landing in 1492 until now, you still wouldn't have the $44 billion to buy Twitter. It's pretty gross.

Zuckerberg owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post. Elon Musk owns Twitter. When multi-billionaires take control of our most vital platforms for communication, it’s not a win for free speech. It’s a win for oligarchy.

Self care is more about discipline than it is about pleasure.

The average American had a wage increase of 4.7% last year – less than inflation. CEOs had a wage increase of 19%. A system that only benefits those at the top is flawed. We must bridge this gap so everyone has a fair shot.
