Givony wouldn’t have leaked unless Egor’s camp wanted it. Many BYU fans were getting their hopes up. His camp likely saw this and got the “bad” news out of the way so the press conference wasn’t a lead balloon of bad news.

Maybe a hot take: People who think it’s dumb of Egor to schedule and hype an announcement only to announce he’s leaving aren’t seeing the big picture. What Egor is announcing is actually great news for BYU fans. It’s the very thing KY is pitching recruits on and why AJ is coming.

A source close to the situation tells me that Rob Wright to BYU is a done deal and the NIL amount is $3.5 million.
