A few photographical highlights from a wonderful weekend at Migfest. Literally hundreds of birds every day, what more could one ask for? IDs in the ALT text.

After a disappointing day spent slogging the patch an afternoon of filthy twitching provided exquisite views of the Winterton Lesser Grey Shrike. Catching plenty of food and performing extremely well!

Missing it's right tail feather, looks like the Norfolk bird! Skillfully managed to avoid the whole of Suffolk well played

Up on Stronsay in Orkney for the week, and day one offered a light smattering of migrants including a stunning Siberian Chiffchaff (first picked up on call) and a couple of Yellow-browed Warbler. Let's see what else is to come. 😄

Think I prefer this tight crop as it shows how delicate the image is, hanging on by that tiny leg #hoopoe #wildlifephotography #nature #bird #birds

Stronsay was fun, exhausting but fun. Although the 'mega' alluded Drew Lyness and I. We came away with a plethora of 25+ Yellow-browed Warbler, 2x Barred Warbler, a few Siberian Chiffchaff and equal number Blythi type Lesser Whitethroat.

Some excellent views of Yellow-browed Warblers were obtained on Stronsay after a couple poor years its been nice to have these iconic autumnal warblers being the most abundant Warbler species observed during our time on Stronsay.

Putative Eastern Yellow Wagtail at Walberswick yesterday evening (found by Brian Small). Bird showed well at range before being flushed by a Sprawk and seemingly went to roost with a large group of Pied Wagtails. Raspy call heard!

Birders of Twitter, We're down in Poole this weekend, and I'd like to try and see some of the wintering Spoonbill. I note from today that 15 were at Shipstal Point and 25 were a few days ago. Is this a regular spot and my best place to try? Thanks in advance!

The past weeks birding seems to have been dominated by Tawny Owls with recently fledged young and day roosting birds everywhere I go, always lovely to see.
