For over 4 years, Afghan women have been denied education, work, freedom, and participation in society, while world stay silent. These lost years cannot be undone. Silence is complicity. Until when? Neutrality in the face of injustice is siding with the oppressor. #Afghanistan

📍2025: Afghanistan ranked the worst country in the world for women & girls. This is not just a statistic, it reflects years of systemic oppression, gender apartheid, & global silence. Women in Afghanistan are banned from education, work, & basic freedoms. #StopGenderApartheid

This is a positive step toward ensuring gender persecution and violations of women’s rights are never normalized. But it’s not enough. Stronger action & further arrest warrants from ICC are needed to deliver justice & give hope to the silenced. #ICC #WomensRights #Afghanistan

Women’s rights activists welcome the ICC arrest warrants against Taliban leaders, but the path to enforcement remains unclear. For 4 years, global statements have lacked action, allowing Taliban to deepen repression, especially against women. #EndGenderApartheid #WomenFreedom

On #WorldPopulationDay, the world promotes access to reproductive health, yet millions of Afghan women are denied even basics. Under Taliban rule, reproductive rights have collapsed into a silent crisis. “A child every year, no doctor, no peace. No one asks if I’m even alive.”

As August 15 approaches, Afghan women, human rights defenders, and all Afghans mark it as a Black Day, the day freedom ended. Since then, women have been stripped of education, work, and basic rights, and countless professionals have been forced into exile or silence.

Afghan women and people, rise and raise your voices🇦🇫 August 15 is a black day in Afghanistan’s history. On this day, we lost our flag, our anthem, & all women’s freedoms, education, work, and sport. Afghanistan has been in darkness since. We will not be silent. #FreeAfghanistan

A calculated war on Afghan women waged by the Taliban. Women are beaten in public, banned from education, and erased from society, all to serve a cowardly, patriarchal ideology that fears free, educated women. The world must stand with Afghan women.

Ms. Hosseini spoke about the horrific situation in Afghanistan: Women are banned from education, forced to wear the burqa, and not allowed to go out without a male escort. She rightly emphasized that the Taliban’s gender apartheid is a major driver of forced displacement.
