What a terrific opportunity!

So proud to see our Jag CIOs representing our school. In partnership with City of Mesa, Arizona they are currently implementing their own action plan of eliminating single-use water bottles on our campus!

Watering ollas were first used in China and North Africa more than 4,000 years ago. Our Jag Garden Club engineered their own, affordable version of a watering olla. Thank you to our Jag family members for donating the materials needed for this project.

Today we hosted, Joy Hicks, Sr. Manager of Environmental Sustainability for The Home Depot .Thank you, Ms. Hicks for sharing your passion and Home Depot’s efforts for a sustainable future. We enjoyed learning about the education/work path that led you to a career in sustainability!

Today 6th graders used block coding to program their Sphero Bolts to find a basket of eggs! #MPSignite

These 5th grade students put the “M” in STEM today when they found the relationship between time and distance in order to navigate their Sphero Bolts through a maze. #MPSignite

The ThinkerSpace put the “T” into STEM by hosting an @AZSciTech workshop. Teachers from around the state participated in a battle bot challenge using Sphero Bolt bots!

Today our 5th graders had the opportunity to test out their jousting skills using Sphero Bolts! Huzzah!

After reading about the history of bubble gum Scholastic Teachers, our third graders analyzed a bar graph comparing the sugar content of some popular brands. Then we wondered if the sugar content affected the size of the bubbles- the students (and teachers) were happy to test it out!

Today our Jefferson ThinkerSpace welcomed guest speaker @pamslim to work with our 6th grade girls on the vision boards. Pamela Slim is an author, business coach and the co-founder Main Street Learning Lab in downtown Mesa, AZ. Thank you, Pam!
