We are so lucky to sing in such stunning venues at Christmas: Thank you for having us today at Bell House in Dulwich... Bell House and last Monday at Diocese HQ... Southwark Cathedral
Come and SING!🎶🎶🎶🎶 It’s free! It’s fun! Come and join us all! We’re very pleased with the uptake for our Saturday afternoon of Spirituals in the #VWA @JAGSschool JAGS Music led by our dynamic, friendly conductor Peter Gritton
Come and sing with JagsChoralSociety at 2pm in the VWA to explore spirituals. Come and help Peter Gritton unravel their beauty, unearth their secrets and unleash their power. A free event.
Glad it went so well. We hear that first-time participants ranged from local residents to Putney-ites. Having community activity in the Community Music Centre JagsChoralSociety means a lot to us.
I’ve just been to Solveiga‘s recital at the Latvian Embassy. We’re in for a treat tomorrow JAGS Music @JAGSschool #JAGSPianoFestival A kind, encouraging and interesting person. Obviously a lovely pianist too!
Stupendous! We are so blest to be associated with @JAGSschool JAGS Music and tangentially to other Southwark Schools Learning Partnership schools. #Beethoven250 looks to have been a huge success at such a difficult time for music. Well done to Peter Gritton for playing such a leading role.
An atmospheric venue for our first proper rehearsal since March 2020 - in Bell House gardens Bell House This is Dulwich Village Peter Gritton led our rehearsal of VW Mystical Songs and a new piece we commissioned from Jonathan Lee - Lament for Zenocrate JAGS Music
Our second live rehearsal Bell House Local composer Jonathan Lee talks to us about how he found inspiration for his new piece ‘Lament for Zenocrate’ commissioned by the choir. So interesting to hear about the Dulwich connections to the story! #marlowe #burbage #edwardalleyn
The threat of rain did not deter us from giving the world premiere of Jonathan Lee’s “Lament for Zenocrate” Bell House We also dedicated Chilcott’s Irish Blessing to Elaine Shackleton, finishing with VW’s Mystical Songs with everybody singing the baritone solo line.
JAGS Music Award Holders playing chamber music together this lunchtime at Guards’ Chapel, Birdcage Walk - Haydn, Clementi, Schubert and a piece written for all of them by their Director of Music Peter Gritton There was just time to watch the Guardsmen on the parade ground.
Is this for real?! ‘Jumping at the Woodside’ learnt in one day - with no notated music! Thank you to Mark Armstrong Mark Armstrong and NYJO rhythm section for coaxing brilliant jazz out of us on the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership Big Band Day open to all SSLP schools @JAGSschool DulwichCollegeMusic
