Very proud of our sixth form music scholar, Alexander. Tune-in to BBC4 at 7pm to hear him perform the premiere of ‘Crystal Projections’, written for him by our Composer in Residence Jago Thornton . BBC Young Musician Eton College

Great to hear this piece on BBC Young Musician written by our former conducting scholar Jago Thornton!

Alex was very cool and Jago Thornton ‘s piece - our Composer in Residence (and tech guru!) EtonMusic Eton College was amazing.

new piece 'of Flesh and Breath' is premiered online today at 2pm GMT ! youtube.com/watch?v=XAOhKf… #scba20 Stockholm Chamber Br

*** COMPOSER NO 30 *** Our next composer is Jago Thornton who is a professional composer whose recent piece 'Crystal Projections' was performed in the percussion final of BBC Young Musician by Alex Pullen. The Radio Times described the piece as 'sparkling'. shorturl.at/tuvT6

Several months later I'm still rewatching BBC young musician percussion final. Fang Zhang's my standout favourite (love Rain the blind monk!) but "Crystal Projections" by Jago Thornton I'll willingly listen to on a permanent loop. Listen & be transported😍 youtube.com/watch?v=AzlqeD…

Lovely words from Emily Royal about my piece written for BBC Young Musician last year! BBC Radio 3 #NewMusic #percussion #solo #vibraphone

Congratulations to Jago Thornton, winner of this year's President Commission, awarded by JAM President Paul Mealor. His string quartet 'becoming birdsong' beautifully captured the atmosphere of the Romney Marsh. The London Mozart Players will perform his commission next year.

This year we held our first ever Masterclass Residency and we were thrilled to welcome four exceptional composers to #JAMontheMarsh: Cameron Biles-Liddell, @musikschopfer, @composer_ryder & Jago Thornton

Join us at 6pm and 'Meet the Composers' Jago Thornton and John Frederick Hudson to find out more about their new works 'Murmurations' and 'Wild Earth Blazing'. Jago's President Commission (awarded by Paul Mealor) and John's Festival Commission will be premiered at 7pm.
