Another heartbreaking news

Hossam El-Din Awad Mohamed Khalifa, a volunteer from Sudanese Red Crescent, lost his life while on duty in Tuti Island in Khartoum State on 10 April. Eight other people were injured during the incident.

I am deeply saddened by the killing of another member of the network.

Palestine Red Crescent Society volunteer paramedic Mohammed Awad Allah Musa was killed on Saturday, 20 April, while providing medical assistance to those in need in the town of Al-Sawiya,

No lives should be lost in a predictable disaster.

Together, we @IFRC, the United Nations & partners continue to scale up action to ensure that everyone on Earth is protected by early warnings by 2027.

We must invest in early warning & early action & save lives.

Another very sad news.

A volunteer paramedic from the Palestine Red Crescent got injured while on duty in the Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm.

We wish him a speedy and full recovery.

A recent study from the World Weather Attribution with the contribution of Climate Centre experts revealed that the recent deadly heatwave in the Sahel and West Africa with temperatures above 45°C would not have been possible without human-caused climate change.

The unprecedented surge of cholera outbreaks is endangering the health of one billion people worldwide.

In Zimbabwe, volunteers from Zimbabwe Red Cross remain actively engaged in the cholera response. They are providing support at Oral Rehydration Points to treat the affected people.

In Afghanistan, six months after the devastating earthquake, communities are struggling to rebuild their lives.

The Afghan Red Crescent, along with IFRC teams, continues to work together to help the people but more is needed.
