#FoundationsForTheFuture conference panel has reps from Department of Health, Education NI, Health and Social Care Northern Ireland, Bolster Community & Youth Justice Agency Discussing including children & young people in services & decisions, the vital community & voluntary sector & rolling out best practice across the region.

Ray Jones who did the Children's Social Care Services Independent Review noted the passion & expertise here & honoured input by children & families. He is embarrassed that what is needed still isn’t being done. Need to undo systemic barriers. Need collective voice for children’s social care & ALB.

A really skilful and creative capture of the content of the #FoundationsForTheFuture conference. A great way to remember and focus on the core messages, to stick to purpose and hold onto hope. So proud of the children and young people The Fostering Network Department of Health

Absolutely fantastic to be part of this wonderful event. I am deeply proud of the whole team, and all of the families and foster carers who worked so hard and shared their stories. What an impactful project Step Up Step Down is! The Fostering Network

Wow. What an amazing parent to be able to be so open, honest and self-reflective. A beautiful video by South Eastern Trust which really showcases the impact of Step Up Step Down 💚

I am feeling so full of hope being at Ulster University’s celebration at the beautiful Academy Restaurant to celebrate young people who completed the developmental trauma course. It was a joy to be part of this with incredible colleagues from Adoption UK, VOYPIC & Action for Children 🥳

Spending the next couple of days at Fatima Whitbread’s One Voice Summit, exploring ideas and sharing best practices to improve outcomes #ForAllChildren. The vibe is already that this won’t be a talking shop, but will lead to much needed action. #FatimasUKCampaign

Fantastic to hear directly from young people. In their words, “Young people deserve to know they have a voice and that someone is listening. We should feel that we have some control over our lives.” Fatima Whitbread Coram Voice #OneVoiceSummit #FatimasUKCampaign

Pleasure to present The Fostering Network’s Step Up Step Down project at Fatima Whitbread’s One Voice Summit. Doing the right thing at the right time with families & others across the sector, supporting children & young people to stay with birth family when this is best😊

Today marks the start of Foster Care Fortnight with theme “The Power Of Relationships”. This will be an impactful two weeks, with the sharing of real life impact stories, events for families & services & opportunities for learning, development & engagement. The Fostering Network #FCF25

Brilliant to be at the Foster Wales conference today, sharing about The Fostering Network’s Step Up Step Down service (supporting families on the edge of care in dignifying & nurturing ways) with colleagues from PembrokeshireCC. Was also moved by the honesty of stories & the impact of

Sibling groups from our Step Up Step Down and Fostering Kinship Support projects came together to explore their identities and experiences of being siblings. They designed + created this beautiful piece, "We All Fit", on display 2 Royal Avenue for their late night Belfast event!
