Did not expect to enjoy the new HUNGER GAMES significantly more than NAPOLEON, but 2023 isn’t out of surprises.

The extremely divergent takes on NAPOLEON promise a healthy and interesting discourse and I look forward to what folks have to say. I’m also convinced Ridley Scott pranked us with two cuts, and I’m jealous of the “funny version” some of my colleagues apparently saw.

Annoyed that so many outlets are crediting Deadline when published well before them, but oh well. That’s the industry.

THANKSGIVING nails the slasher fundamentals without ever leaning on tired throwback nostalgia. It’s just a mean, hilarious, effective horror romp, powered by grisly kills while feeling thoroughly modern in its approach. Flabbergasted by how much I enjoyed it.

Every dork on the internet finds reasons to get mad at Rachel Zegler for largely stupid reasons, but she’s utterly phenomenal in the new HUNGER GAMES, so she gets the last laugh.

Mike is an immensely talented writer and if you need a critic or some great Oscar coverage, you need to hit him up.

Round two with BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES and I’m honestly hard-pressed to think of a prequel that enriches an existing movie more.
