I decided to click random page and it took me to something super interesting. It took me to a page about a battleship named after Birmingham #EH204 bhamwiki.com/w/USS_Birmingh…

Writing tool #34 really shocked me because it talks about how much cutting really happens when it comes down to producing a final draft. It’s definitely something that I can use in my writing. #EH204

When cutting my paper I tend to leave all the quotes in there because I feel like they are important. RPC took 34 says to cut those weak quotes to give more power to the good quotes. That is something I never thought of. #EH204

“Fresh Air” really opened up a perspective that I never have thought of because I viewed police as protectors while African Americans view them as a battle force #EH204

“Fresh Air” he states that he saw gangs or crews and police both as protectors and would call them both in different circumstances #EH204

“Fresh Air” states when he was his sons age he was scared to leave the house and this would get so in-depth to the point it was who he was watching, how many times he smiled, who he gave knuckles too etc #EH204

“Fresh Air” Coates said he never walked to school alone always had 5-6 people with him. This is for physical safety. Along with not going to specific neighborhoods unless you know someone in that neighborhood #EH204

Tool 39 says to write good ending you have to read good endings so it’s almost as if you are learning through experience #EH204

Jackson Webster (@jacksoneh204bsc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Tool 39 when writing the ending you can find a way to tie it back to something previously in the story it can even be a off or off beat element in the story #EH204

Jackson Webster (@jacksoneh204bsc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Tool 39 the longer the story to more important the payoff is. Which means that the ending doesn’t need to be happy or short but something that is going to satisfy the readers. It’s a reward for finishing the book. #EH204

David Carr talks on having mistakes in the articles at the bottom. It made him feel paralyzed because he thought his writing was not professional enough for New York Times. #EH204

David Carr says that the corrections section on articles is hidden to the public eye but for writers it is almost like a hall of shame due to how embarrassing it is to end up on it. #EH204

David Carr says that people wait around for the writers to make errors “ like crows on a wire” and then expose these errors to the public #EH204

I chose the fresh air podcast interview with Johnny Cash because he is a staple of country music and living in Alabama country music is almost a necessity #EH204

Johnny Cash was diagnosed with Parkinson and in his album in 1977 he had a Hymn that said “ Jesus I don’t want to die alone” I think this is because of his diagnosis. #EH204

Johnny Cash always had a deep connection with the hymns that he sung because of how honest they were and how he was moved by the songs even if he wrote them or not #EH204

Johnny Cash says that he was always intrigued by Elvis’s charisma and said it influenced him to have some but cash had a different style it was more stoic #EH204
