Here's a theory on why we haven't seen an updated Apple TV yet - Apple Silicon has to ship on the Mac first. The Apple TV has requirements that are much closer to the Mac than mobile (power via cord, high display bandwidth, etc). Apple Silicon + a good game controller = Wow.

Ting Becker 🇨🇳 FWIW, when I worked at the Apple Store, I saw a role at corporate that I thought was perfect. I applied, never heard by back. One day, I email Steve Jobs about why I think I’m the perfect fit. Hours later, I get a call from the hiring manager to come to Cupertino to interview.
