There's a certain irony to the fact that WWE chose to embrace the phrase 'professional wrestling' again on the night it delivered the most sports-entertainmenty end to #WrestleMania ever.

That's not a knock, by the way.

I'll be watching this until they put me in the ground.

There is no one anywhere, in any form of media, that can hold a candle to WWE and its video packages.

When it has stories like this to sink its teeth into, it is untouchable.

I won’t lie, the treatment for this is really going to impact on my side-hustle as the barman/ masseuse at my local gay sauna.

Who knew the most entertaining thing in wrestling in 2024 would be Dwayne Johnson channelling his inner Vince as a power-crazed WWE boss who would stop at nothing to deny the fans the champion they were rooting for.

So, #WrestleMania Saturday was a lot of fun.

Great opener, fun ladder match, Sami gets his moment and the main event was epic.

It’s hard to grade ‘Mania now it’s a two-night affair until Sunday is done.

But I think WWE has set the table for an epic conclusion tonight.

I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about #WrestleMania

Universally acknowledged - after a wobbly start - to be a pretty great build.

So many matches that can steal the show, so many intriguing stories and ways to go.

Now it’s all down to execution.
