Enjoying Lily Lynch's review of Lea Ypi's recent book (jacobin.com/2025/10/lea-yp…). Esp. this last part - timely as I read Plato's Laws III: to think about a new constitution, need to take stock of previous political structures - the present and future depend verily on the past.

Perhaps. But better (IMHO) to ask *why* such people (eg. Numenius' "Plato atticizing", etc) crafted such formulations as they did in the first place. This is why we need a study of past histories of philosophy - like we're doing here in Berlin: klassphil.hu-berlin.de/de/forschung-u…
