I believe the bans of Jeweled Lotus and Mana Crypt are an open admission that the very concept of Rule 0 does not work and most players are not equipped to accurately assess the power level of decks in a pod. wotc should take over the ban list and manage it like other formats.

The Rules Committee had four years to prepare for a ban announcement and the backlash it would cause. The threats are unacceptable, but not anticipating that reaction from a community of manchildren is irresponsible, and so is paying lip service to diversity and then ignoring it.

No no no we can't just reinvent the alignment chart. See the issue is that it implies certain playstyles and goals are mutually exclusive I propose we break down the main Goals/experiences people want out of their games and use that for mixing and matching

Now that we're a little deeper into spoiler season, I wanted to do a more detailed thread about how I, personally, feel that #MTGAetherdrift is a failure at a cool concept: A multiversal race where the prize is a Planeswalker spark. I'm going to break it down as best as I can. 🧵

My current main gripe about #MTGTarkir is that it's clear that the "one Planeswalker per set" restriction continues to be a colossal blunder for the game. The story's main characters are Ajani and Elspeth, but Ugin having a card has made it so they can't be in the set. Disaster.

Okay but statistically there has to be at least one person who lost their job to automation, was told to "learn to code", actually learned to code, then lost the coding job to AI
