Recently re-read Amitav Ghosh's "Calcutta Chromosome." I think I may have learned more about malaria from his book than I did in medical school. (Some of it wasn't 100% correct, but it made a better story that way.) Highly recommended. I wish he would write a book about TB.

I'm not sure I entirely agree with Yarvin (at least not about DoD being a "jobs program"), but I do think the appointment of absurdly unqualified people is Trump's way, like Caligula's, of expressing mockery and contempt for the entire apparatus of gov't, and everyone in it.
