Children in care are one of the groups who are disproportionately subjected to such behaviour policies. This is a very welcome development.

The two-child benefit cap was cruelly designed to punish parents and what it does is punish children. It is the WRONG policy. If I were a Labour MP last night, I would have also found myself suspended this morning. Ending childhood poverty has to be the top priority!

I took this photo of my husband in 2018, as part of Foster Care Fortnight. I thought I’d reshare it to remind us all of the amazing contributions that immigrants make to our country.

I’m on record for saying that the racist riots are an absolute disgrace. BUT, I’m also on record for stating my view that children aged 12 are not old enough to be held criminally responsible. These children are the victims of radicalisation. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Ofsted has published new data showing how children's homes have become a huge, money-spinning business. If you are squeamish about these things, look away now. 🧵

Our foster boy (aged 12) absolutely loves our next-door-neighbour (aged 82), and she loves him right back. That’s why I’ve never understood local objections to children’s homes. They will miss out on the opportunity for genuine human connection.

OK here's a rant about A level re-marks. My son had a below prediction score, so (because I was able to) I paid the £150 per paper re-mark charge. He went up by TEN marks and a whole grade. The fact that this option is only open to those that can afford it is totally unfair.

Fascinating to see public reaction to Kirstie Allsop and the middle classes experiencing what social workers are statutorily required to do: protect children. … Or they’ll be pilloried by the very same public. And the Mail+ who are of course horrified by poor

Me: When you first joined our family, we asked you what you would like if we won the lottery, and you said, “a cupcake.” Is that what you still want or would you change it? Our foster daughter: Can I have two cupcakes please? Me: ❤️❤️

I’ve caught some recent chatter about the dangers of children being parented by same-sex couples. So, I thought I’d reshare this short conversation between me and our daughter about her own experiences. She is amazing and we are incredibly proud of her: youtube.com/watch?v=3FG7tB…
