A few images from the last day at the BFFI 2022 showing our hard working team promoting our welcoming and friendly club. The last two pictures show Mark, our experienced river keeper, tying his favourite River Eden salmon flies.

This is the magnificent view that greeted our members fishing on the River Eamont yesterday, opening day on our Lancashire & Cumbrian beats. Conditions were the best for an opening day for many a year, which encouraged a few LDO's & MB's to hatch, and an odd trout to the net.

Many of our beats have fishing huts for the use of our members. They've seen some fish and heard some stories down the years. This quaint hut with an angler weathervane is on our River Ribble beat and is a fine example.

A pristine 15lb spring salmon caught by one of our members fishing our Wetheral Beat on the River Eden today. This is one of a number of spring salmon reported from our beats this year. Quickly and safely returned after waiting for it to recover in the net and a quick photo.

During the autumn and winter we hold monthly Zoom evenings with renowned speakers from the world of fly fishing. Our last talk before we break until autumn was a with Tarquin Millington-Drake of Frontiers Travel: "Fly Fishing Around The Globe & The Bucket List". Very tempting!!!

One of our River Eden beats with the snow-covered Pennines providing a stunning backdrop. This scenic beat fishes well for salmon & trout, has private parking & 2 fishing huts. On the day this was taken there were big hatches of LDO's, MB's & IB's, bringing trout to the surface.

Our members were invited to a "Salmon Tactics & Set-ups Session" on one of our River Eden Beats on Sunday, kindly run by our experienced keepers Mark and Tony. A thoroughly good day was had by all.

Despite all the rain and lost fishing days due to high water it's been a bumper spring on our beats so far this season. This pristine 15lb silver springer was caught by Tony Bell on our Wetheral Beat using a gold bodied version of the Willie Gunn on a 1" aluminium tube.

Another prized springer to add to this years encouraging returns. This 9lb fish was caught last week by our Eden Keeper Mark Strong on our Wetheral Beat. #salmonfishing #salmon #springsalmon #springer #rivereden #wetheral #cumbria
