The sincere Confession of our faults always leaves great peace and joy in the soul. The sadness caused by sin and a lack of correspondence with grace turns into joy. A sincere Confession may well be amongst the sweetest, the most comforting and the most decisive moments in life.
Sociological analyses are not enough to bring about justice and peace. The root of evil is within man’s own interior. The remedy, therefore, has also to come from the heart.
All you going about tormented, afflicted, and weighed down by your cares and appetites, think nothing of them. Come to me, your God, and I will refresh you; and you will find a rest for your souls that your preoccupation with your troubles takes away from you.
Son of God and thy Son, Lady,
Mary, Mother full of grace.
Born of God without beginning,
Born thy Babe in time and place.
No division, no confusion,
God and man in unity.
Human nature’s true salvation:
Union with the Trinity.
If we are not sincere with God we can’t love him or serve him. If we aren’t sincere with ourselves we cannot have a well-formed conscience which loves good and shuns evil. If we are not sincere with other people it becomes impossible for us in any meaningful way to relate to them
If we Christians lived in accord with our faith, the greatest revolution of all times would take place. The effectiveness of our co-redemption depends on each one of us. You should meditate on this. Do I live, at every instant of my life, this unity of life, at work, at rest ...?
“Thus says the Lord your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:14,18-19
Oh, happy day, Oh, happy day
When Jesus washed, when He washed, He washed my sins away, Oh, happy day, Oh, happy day, When Jesus washed, Oh, when He washed, He washed my sins away, Oh, it's a happy day, He taught me how, To watch and fight and pray, And live rejoicing every day
When fidelity to Our Lord is missing then everything is disunited and broken, though it can still happen that in his mercy God can put everything together again if only we humbly ask him.
Stay with us Lord ... remind us always of the essential things of our existence ... help us to be faithful and to know how to listen attentively to the wise counsel of those people in whom You make yourself present to us as we constantly travel towards you.
Grace does not replace nature and we cannot ask Our Lord for extraordinary assistance or help when, through the ordinary channels, God has placed the necessary instruments in our hands.
Each woman if she is faithful to her divine and human vocation, can achieve the fulness of her human personality. Let’s remember that Mary, Mother of God and Mother of men, is not only a model but also proof of the transcendental value of an apparently unimportant life.
Everyday give Him thanks and praise Him. Our Lord pays continuous attention to the steps taken by his children. This is what we are like before God – little children who have not yet learned to walk. It is up to us to correspond, to show our good will, to begin and begin again.
In fact, throughout the day, perhaps in little things, we do say no to God. And we have to try many times to say yes to what God asks of us, and no to our own selfishness, to the impulses of our pride and to laziness.
There are lots of occasions when, deliberately or otherwise, we reject Jesus’ grace; and the offense we cause him is in proportion to the love He has shown us. Can anyone be so blind as to fail to recognize Christ in these repeated encounters of his with our fallen nature?
It is love, above all, that should lead us to ask God very often for forgiveness for the countless times we don’t respond as we ought to the graces we receive.
Recall your sins, fear of hell makes you weep. You seek Love for tears, and Wisdom answers you that you ought to weep more out of reverence for the Beloved than for fear of the pains of hell, because tears shed for love please him more than those shed through fear.
