People who experienced the rise of sa hip hop in 2013 did not fall in love with it. They were caught off guard without smart phones and wifi. They didn't like it back then, it was just popular.
That's why they stuck in that era thinking nothing else comes after it.
We can't keep entertaining them, they truly drive the narrative cause some people read things and think it's facts. We need to have a culture of shaming anyone who says that man so the audience doesn't get involved in hating our genre for no reason.
I'm not gonna let an audience that failed deep house, gqom and kwaito dictate that our hip hop isn't authentic to SA. Whan yall had that "authentic" shit yall abandoned it.
