Officers from Batley and Spen NPT attended Ponderosa, Heckmondwike on Sunday morning for their regular contact point.

Over recent weeks the Forget Me Not charity shop in Heckmondwike has been targeted by thieves. Local Officers have been liaising with staff at the store, and measures including changes to the layout of the store have been put in place to prevent further thefts.

As part of our ongoing work to reduce road casualties and improve safety on our roads officers from Batley and Spen NPT conducted a speed check operation at New North Road, Heckmondwike this morning (Monday).

This week, Officers from NPT have been attending local schools in the area to assist with parking issues around school pick up and drop offs. With nights getting darker and the weather getting poorer, traffic levels have increased especially around schools.

Yesterday, Officers from Batley and Spen NPT attended Dewsbury District Hospital for a Police Contact Point. Contact Points are held so that members of the public have an opportunity to interact with local officers to discuss any issues they may have in the area.

Officers from Batley & Spen NPT have been on the Windybank Estate this morning alongside WYP Kirklees District Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator & Kirklees Council Officers have spoken to residents after recent incidents on the street and have also offered crime prevention advice.

Millbridge Junior School - Parking. As part of their routine patrol officers from Batley and Spen NPT attended Millbridge School, Heckmondwike this morning to check the area regarding school parking issues. One driver was dealt with for contravening the zig zag lines.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) was in Heckmondwike this morning assisting with a call regarding a medical episode. The YAA landed at Heckmondwike Sports Club. Batley/Spen NPT officers attended to provide assistance, there was no concerns or issues for the wider community.

Officers from Batley & Spen conducted patrols around the bus station and memorial park in Cleckheaton yesterday afternoon. The officers were there being a presence for anti-social behaviour and offering general crime prevention advice in the town centre.

Officers from Batley and Spen had a visit on Thursday from one of West Yorkshire Police’s wellbeing dogs - Lola Lola had a busy day visiting a number of stations across West Yorkshire as part of the National Mental Health Awareness day.

Officers from Batley and Spen NPT attended a contact point at Tesco’s in Cleckheaton. Officers spoke with members of the public and provided a visible presence at the front of the store. Contact points are a fantastic opportunity to gather intelligence.

On Friday 11th October, Officers from Batley and Spen NPT attended Purlwell J&I School. The officers gave a talk to the children about Road Safety.

Officers from Batley and Spen NPT have seized the below vehicle after it was located in the Batley area. It had been reported stolen from Leeds several weeks ago. Enquiries are ongoing.

Officers from Batley and Spen NPT are at Spen Valley High School this morning alongside various other local businesses for a career's event. Officers are speaking to students about different careers available within West Yorkshire Police.

Batley and Spen NPT assisted with traffic patrol at the annual Harvest Festival today which is hosted by St Peters Church. 200 children from St Peters School attended the event along with 50 parents. Officers engaged with children and helped them to cross the roads safely.
