First paper from PeAR WPI (with PRG UMD) made it to the cover of Science Robotics Science Robotics: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… We observed that insects use minimal information for navigation. We realized "It's not the information but uncertainty is the key!"

1. We propose a generalized mathematical framework for estimating Heteroscadastic Aleatoric Uncertainty for any Neural Network. 2. We show that this gives rich informational cues for various robotics tasks. 3. This is super useful for tiny robots!
