A 14thC copy of a canon law manuscript by Italian Goffredo di Trani. This copy was made by a professional scribe and is part of a set of four legal texts (WCL F100 f1r, Summa super Titulis Decretalium).

This year is the anniversary of the issue of the 1225 version of the Magna Carta. This copy was made by the monks of Worcester in one of their registers c. 1240. It starts with the red lettering in the centre of the left hand column. (WCM A2)

A red letter U with green flourishes opens a new section by Bernard of Clairvaux in this 12thC manuscript. The title is "Apology to William". Bernard lived in the 11th and early 12thC's. He was writing in the defence of the Cistercian monastic order on this occasion (WCL Q51).

A large intricately decorated letter S at the start of Book IV of Peter Lombard's Sentences. This manuscript copy was made in the 1200's. At least two Worcester monks' names have been found in this from the 16th Century (WCL F53).

A gift from William Godeshall with the consent of his wife Alice to their daughter Alice and her heirs of ½ virgate of land in Teddington with the meadow belonging to it, the other half of which William gave to John de Fraxino. This lease is dated to the 1250's.

An Elizabethan document of 1586 in which Francis Willis of St. Johns College Oxford wrote to Richard Harries William Leche, both of Oxford. He asked them to act as his proctors when he was installed as Dean of Worcester Cathedral. harries was also a Canon of Worcester (B1858).
