Female economics Nobel prize winners are rare sightings 🔍and when you have two of them at once it's magic! 🪄 LSE & STICERD were delighted to host Professors Esther Duflo and Claudia Goldin for each of their public lectures this evening 👑💪#LSEEconomics #econtwitter

Three scientist mothers call for a change in how conference childcare costs are reimbursed, drawing on their personal experiences go.nature.com/3X03rLo

Traveling to conferences w/ small kids is an impossible task unless you are pretty rich. Reimbursement rules typically do not even allow for AirBnB (a must if bringing a family member or nanny to take care of the kid). Yes, you can always marry an economist to fix it 😁

I think what Alessandra is trying to say here is that there is this new edition of this macro conference with like, lots of great women macroeconomists presenting discussing and stuff, I mean, seems awesome, and btw she is excited about it. Anyways, great stuff! #mansplaining

Twitter hive. I need your help: Does your department have any type of "family friendly" travel policies/exceptions? Ex: allow you to book AirBnB or a larger hotel room so you can bring a caregiver? (when you travel or when you invite someone to give a talk).

Just out in JEL: An data economy literature overview with Cindy Chung. It took a while to get to press, so newer work is missing. But there are a handful of research ideas at the end that are still big open questions. aeaweb.org/articles?id=10… #DataEconomy #Valueofdata

The recent work of Ulrike Malmendier has made her the Marcel Proust of economics — focusing, like the French novelist, on the subjective nature of human experience and its enduring influence. bit.ly/4bkrhFN #EconFocus
