Grateful for the opportunity to sit down with some incredible local pastors today. We shared ideas, prayed together, and discussed how we can better serve our community with unity and purpose. There’s real strength when leaders come together with a shared heart for the people.

Our school community showed up with energy, excitement, and Rocket pride as we cheered on our scholars in grades 3-5 for the big tests ahead! From music and dancing to motivational cheers the gym was buzzing with encouragement and positivity.

For the last week of school, Mrs. Colbert and Mrs. Bryant’s classroom has been transformed into a cozy campsite! Complete with tents, twinkle lights, campfire stories, and outdoor-themed activities, students are “camping out” while celebrating the end of an amazing school year.

Mrs. Hamilton and Mr. Darden’s classroom was transformed into a full-blown construction zone—complete with caution tape, cones, blueprints, tools and even mini hard hats! Our little builders dove right into the fun, hammering away at learning with excitement and creativity.

Day of Gratitude 2025 Today we paused to celebrate the heart and soul of our school—our amazing staff! Today was all about showing appreciation, sharing laughs, and celebrating everything we’ve accomplished together.

Its July 1st!! Today begins a new chapter in my career. After six incredible years serving as the principal of Northeast, I am transitioning to a new role as Director of Federal Programs at the district level.

When it comes to school leadership, being well-liked doesn’t make your actions right and a few people who disapprove of you, doesn’t make your actions wrong. For the sake of the students you are of service to, don’t lose heart. Stay the course! 🎯🎯🎯

This afternoon, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction received communication from the U.S. Department of Education that previously frozen federal funding will be released beginning the week of July 28. See my statement below.
