Thank you Prof. Billy Melo Araújo and QUB School of Law for inviting me to deliver the keynote lecture for the launch of Q-IEL. As I mentioned during my remarks, centres like Q-IEL provide invaluable insights and input into the work that we do at the WTO.

It was very enriching to attend #Davos2025 World Economic Forum. Accompanying Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala WTO, and engaging with global leaders, innovators, and changemakers on the most pressing challenges was truly enlightening. At this juncture, it’s critical to support and strengthen multilateralism.

Happy to participate in the Honiara Summit #SDG14 in Solomon Islands 🇸🇧 to achieve sustainable fisheries. I urged WTO Members to deposit their instruments of acceptance of the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies 🐠 to bring it into force soon. Let’s not delay further its benefits!
