You can always find new species if you look. After a talk at Granta Park in Cambridge Iain Webb spotted this mystery sawfly - it turned out to be a maple swordtail. They arrived in the UK in the 80s and choose ailing sycamores to bore into. Have you seen a new species lately?

Kes was assisting our Lilbourne Meadows Manager Jane at Pegsdon Hills in Beds trying to prevent flystrike on the sheep by moving them around she ended up getting covered in agrimony seeds. 🐶🐾🐏 Jane spent the evening combing Kes - don't worry she is absolutely fine💚 📸Jane

We had a wonderful time with the Little Miracles group at our Paxton Pits Environmental Education Centre this week. Such enthusiastic youngsters! We know that some of the families are already building mini-ponds in their gardens to help wildlife. Thank you for visiting! 🐸🐞🦋🦔

🦋Lisa our Northants conservation officer based at Lings finished work to find a Yellow-legged clearwing on her car last week. ⁉️This is a female which you can tell from the yellow anal tufts (not a phrase she gets to use very often!) 👀Have you ever seen one?

We've been given a present! This huge wasps nest was discovered in a home recently and has been donated to us so we can use it to show youngsters how awesome wasps are. We're struggling to find a shelf big enough though...
