Peter mobilised fellow youth for poultry farming🐓 - a key part of Uganda’s food value chain. “We now get 19 trays of eggs daily worth UGX200,000 (US$56)." Mastercard Foundation and World Food Programme are creating youth employment in #Uganda, improving food security, and increasing profits.

During #WorldBreastfeedingWeek, World Food Programme celebrates the power of breastfeeding to give every child a healthier start. In #Uganda, WFP’s NutriCash programme reached 13,000+ breastfeeding mothers & young children in 2024 — improving diets and boosting nutrition.

In 2024, World Food Programme helped 140 schools in #Uganda grow orange-fleshed sweet potatoes🥔. One school in #Karamoja, backed by Lions International, harvested 35 bags—processed into dried chips—feeding learners for 5 months & improving dietary diversity in #schoolmeals.


Hunger Fighters Uganda supported by WFP Uganda, held a nutrition sensitization & vegetable distribution at Kasonga HCIII in Kyangwali. 56 lactating mothers received bundles of carrots, onions, & spinach at immunization day. Focus was on balanced diets, food prep, & kitchen gardening.
