And as I mentioned a few weeks back, and has occurred more commonly in recent springs, some late season colder northerly shots will bring some skims of late season overnight frosts which gardeners will need to keep in mind and prepare for. #dontcastacloutuntilmayisout

Player of the tournament by far. Saw him whitewash ronnie in their semi final second session, where he just did not miss. Continued this form into the final, but Mark will always be my winner, reaching the final at 50. There is hope for me yet!😆

Been no updates on the weather front of late, but not much to say, other than staying high and dry for some time to come, with only occasional shower blips for some (which still won't give much precipitation) Classic prolonged blocking pattern looking likely for much of May!

May is often the best month of the year here in Scotland in terms of dry, fine and prolonged sunny weather, and this year is no exception! A high of 22C today in Tain. Whilst the ground badly needs rain, this is our dry season of the year. When it returns it will forget to stop!

A new #scothotspot for so far in 2025. Auchincruive in Ayrshire has reached 25.3C, beating the previous record of 24.4C for 2025 set in Aboyne. Colder, as you would expect, for North Sea coasts, especially where the haar has lingered. Just 11C at Wick, with spots of light rain!

Current weather pattern thoughts... staying high and dry through this week and into next. Around 22nd looks like lowering of pressure bringing some rain potential. Until then lots of sun, best of the heat out west. Much cooler toward coast E/NE, N Isles, haar/low cloud at times.

Tomorrow, peak of the heat western Argyll and into Lochaber, with a high of 25C. Locally 26C, Fort William out west into Ardnamurchan, Moidart and Morvern area🌞

Local (non-official) weather station at Onich, south of Fort William, recorded a maximum temperature this afternoon of 26.4C. Highest Met Office site readings today, 25.5C at Tyndrum and Auchincruive!

As seen on the latest satellite imagery (windy.com) a shallow cold front is bringing a broad zone of low cloud along its axis, which has extended as far west into Lochaber. Sunshine either side which will extend more widely in from the northeast into the afternoon.

Today is World IBD Day and thinking of all the Crohn's and Colitis warriors across the world battling these debilitating diseases. Despite the inner turmoil with my ongoing flare, I will keep smiling as the mission for remission goes on, and a return to the weather front 🙏

Another braw day of weather. More of the same into tomorrow and Friday, but increasing cloud on Friday from west ahead of a weather front (forgot what they were) brings welcomes rains into the evening and overnight period. The change is on the way!!

Often happens after our great weather in the spring months, when the westerly returns, it tries to make up for lost time! Since the breakdown, up to 2 inches of rain has fallen in parts of central, southern Scotland. As I mentioned before, once it starts, it forgets to stop!

Prior to 23rd May, Bishopton had only recorded less than 1mm of rain! Up to this morning, it has recorded 71mm of rain. 70mm in a week! With more to come, the site will see above average rainfall for May. Mother nature making up for lost time, and more to come into start of June.
