Some nice North Carolina ariel views from my flight - didn't quite take photos during some short drives later to capture the road views - but got a LOT of pine trees surrounding my new community!

This should be the best suggestion for PhD students who are currently navigating through comprehensive exams, proposal defenses, etc.

Not a East Coast thing, for sure - happened to be at an orchestra rehearsal that evening - during which we were allowed to leave the building at anytime. Wind players felt the worst...we string players might be a bit better, but I did try my best not to cough when music was on.

Some interesting research findings from @LeahSchinasi at Drexel , showing the effects of urban heat goes beyond well-known ones, such as cardiovascular impacts, for children.

careers.drexel.edu/cw/en-us/job/5… Full-time working opportunity with @LeahSchinasi at Drexel, with a multi-disciplinary team on a NIH-funded project, examining the relationship between housing/ indoor temperature, and mortality outcomes, through having fun and playing with the data!

Now I would recommend grad students saving their course materials not only by week numbers, but the *main content* taught in each week as well for each folder. I hope I could have done that...which comes in handy, but will make it so much easier later as a reference. PhD Voice - Independently Run

Finally had a chance to visit the Rosenau Hall at UNC Chapel Hill. From my PhD mentor's mentor at Chapel Hill...Tables & figures need to be standalone, that anyone who picks up the page in THIS building will be able to understand it without the text.

Surprised by I still ignored some important details in one of my PhD mentor's papers, after reading/citing it many times (when comparing/contrasting as a reviewer). But soon I recognized same thing could happen for reading sheet music I learned years ago. That's how we learn.

Beautiful Boston winter views....First one taken in the center city, second one near campus; and the last at the last (salt water) marsh reservation in Boston area, which recalls my memory at the Andorra's Meadow within the Wissahickon.

Parks & trees are wonderful, yet we need to think more about equitable access to those in the city: 1) how much do they benefit high crime areas? 2) how can we make women feel safer to use them? Thanks for the guidance of @LeahSchinasi, and Drexel U. News! drexel.edu/news/archive/2…
