Tremendously enjoyable day in the dry dipterocarp forest of Ob Khan NP in N Thailand, together with their super knowledgeable and helpful rangers. Not many palms (just Phoenix loureiroi), but plenty other #plants to collect for the #herbarium, and lots of hills to climb...

Palm #FunFact: the leaves of Kerriodoxa elegans are often chewed by fruit #bats to create a roost. Today, the bats aren't home so I can safely stand underneath. Interestingly, this also happens at Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, far North of the #palm's native range. Ecoinf
